I installed Office on my laptop using the DVD backup disk. However I realized that it had installed the 32 bit version rather than the 64 bit that I wanted to install. I've tried to uninstall using the Control Panel, it gets to step 2 of the uninstall and then hangs. I've had the Uninstall running for over 8 hours now and it still says that it is at Step 2 of 4! I've closed this out once already and run repair on Office , this is the second attempt at the Uninstall.

This thread is locked. In most cases you can't uninstall an individual app if it's included in your Office suite. The only way to uninstall an individual app is if you purchased it as a stand-alone app. In the search box on the task bar, type control panel , then select Control Panel. Right-click the Start button lower-left corner , and choose Control Panel.

Select Programs and Features , then right-click your Office product, and choose Uninstall. Right-click the Office application you want to remove, and then click Uninstall. Select the Microsoft Store tab above and follow those uninstall steps instead. Follow the steps to open the download according to your browser, and when you're prompted in the Application Install window, select Install , and then I agree for the Microsoft Services Agreement. Tip: The tool may take a few minutes to download and install.

After completing the installation, the Uninstall Office products window will open. From the Uninstall Office products window, select the version of Office you want to uninstall, and then select Next. After you restart your computer, the uninstall tool automatically re-opens to complete the final step of the uninstall process. Follow the remaining prompts. If you want to reinstall Office, select the steps for the version you want and follow those steps. Close the uninstall tool.

I cannot restore back since I do not have a restore point back to where it was working. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
